A Fun Day at Curacao Sea Aquarium

Curacao Sea Aquarium

Last week my mom, two brothers and I thought it would be fun to play tourist for a day. So we went to the Curacao Sea Aquarium near Lions Dives and Beach resort. It is said that the Curacao Sea Aquarium actually belongs to one of the most unique aquaria in the world. And that’s pretty impressive for such a small island! So here’s a little of why you need to make a visit to this unique attraction.. whether you’re a local or a tourist!

With a daily program that’s filled with animal encounters, feeding of the lemon sharks, sea turtles and flamingo’s and much more, there’s something fun for everyone! But personally for me, the best part was the dolphin training. That’s why one place you definitely have to visit when you’re at the Curacao Sea Aquarium is the Dolphin Academy! You can even choose to swim with dolphins! I’ve done that before and trust me… it’s so much fun. The dolphin show was probably the highlight of our visit. The animals were so talented and you can tell they’re being treated very well by their trainers. I even appreciated the fact that the trainers now take the dolphins more into the deeper sea, so they don’t feel as captive.

After we learned more about the sharks and sea turtles and watched as people swam with dolphins, we headed to the flamingo’s. As they were feeding them, I volunteered to help for a little while and it was so cool! Since spotting flamingo’s was a little bit of a fail last time, I made sure this time I got up close! After I was done feeding them, my mom also joined me for a picture with one of the baby flamingo’s!

MY OOTD

After having walked around the park for a while, we decided to start heading to the exit. But not before walking over to the outside pool to spot some sea lions! I decided to take my outfit pictures on the other side of the pool. Because as you can see, it was such a pretty backdrop. Right near the clear blue water were a few restaurants like the Italian Limon Cello and the beach bar Hemingway. Would totally love to go there once, just for the spectacular view of the water.

If you have a day to spare while on your trip to the island, you should definitely take an hour or three to visit the Curacao Sea Aquarium!
