The Sallés Hotel Pere IV in Barcelona

Salles Hotel Pere IV

When looking for accommodation in different cities, I always try to base my decision on the distance from all the attractions, the stylish appearance and of course, the price per night! But since Barcelona was a major part of my birthday celebration, I felt it was okay to splurge a little and look for fancier hotels. After having a last-minute cancellation and lousy communication with a different hotel, I booked a room at the four-star hotel: Sallés Hotel Pere IV.

After a two-hour flight, a 30-minute train ride and a few metro stops, we finally arrived at our hotel. Sallés Hotel Pere IV isn’t the closest to the airport, but its location is really central otherwise. The metro station Bogatell is less than one minute away. And the same line takes you to Barceloneta (the beach area) in under five minutes. Not too mention, Passeig de Gràcia and Catalunya are also super close. So whenever I wanted to go back to hotel for a quick outfit change, the location was super convenient! #LifeOfABlogger.

THE LOBBY

When I first entered the hotel’s lobby, I immediately felt a sense of luxury and comfort. Definitely a good first impression. The marble and monochrome tiles as well as the big chandelier are without a doubt an eye catcher.

THE HOTEL ROOM

Even though we arrived a few hours before check-in time, our room was luckily already done. However, once I stepped into our room, I was slightly disappointed. The room had a totally different style and color theme from the room that was shown on Booking.com and wasn’t the one we were expecting or hoping for. Our accommodation was also on the third floor, so we didn’t really have the nicest window view. But nevertheless, I didn’t dwell on these details too much. Because the plan wasn’t to hang out at the hotel too much anyways. And as much as I didn’t really like the room at first, I was crazy about the marble bathroom.Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona

THE SPA

One of the amenities that also made the Sallés Hotel Pere IV the winning choice was the free access to its spa! I knew after such an early flight and transit to the hotel, the spa would be just what I would need. Usually every guest is granted one free hour in the spa during their stay, but we were told we could ask for more vouchers if we wanted too. Super nice! Massages, mani- and pedicures and facials aren’t included, but you can enjoy the nice pool, several saunas and a foot bath. After checking in and freshening up in the room, we headed to the pool for about an hour. After all, we didn’t want to waste too much time staying in the hotel. So after relaxing for a bit, we decided to go explore!Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona Salles Hotel Pere IV Barcelona

I can definitely recommend the Sallés Hotel Pere IV for anyone spending a short trip in Barcelona. Like I mentioned before, it’s only minutes away from most of the tourist attractions. But the neighborhood is still tranquil enough for a goodnight sleep. Best of both worlds if you ask me.

Are you planning any trip to Barcelona soon?

Oh fijn! Ziet er een tof tripje uit in een mooi en verzorgd hotel. Helaas hebben ze niet zo’n spa in elk hotel, want dat is inderdaad wel heerlijk na een lange reis.
