Barcelona Travel Diary

Barcelona travel diary

My birthday was a few days ago and to celebrate I booked a short little trip to Barcelona with one of my best friends. I’ve never been to Spain before, but visiting Barcelona first was definitely a good start. I just got back yesterday, but I already want to book another trip very soon. The city was so beautiful and the weather was mostly perfect. My phone is absolutely filled with snaps from the past two days, so this post will be the first one of my Barcelona travel diary series. Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

DAY 1: LA BARCELONETA

After checking in and hanging out at our hotel for a little while, we headed to La Barceloneta. The area had such a cool LA/ Venice Beach vibe with lots of palm trees, a long board walk, souvenirs vendors and terrace restaurants. After walking around for a little while, we got pretty hungry and ended up eating at this cute outdoor burger restaurant called Makamaka. After our late lunch, we wanted to enjoy more of the sunny weather until sunset. We made plans to head back to the hotel to get ready for dinner and a night out. But when we got there, we were so exhausted from the trip, we ordered some room service and called it a night. barcelona travel diary barcelona travel diary barcelona travel diary barcelona travel diary barcelona travel diary barcelona travel diary barcelona travel diary barcelona travel diary barcelona travel diary

DAY 2: PASSEIG DE GRÀCIA, LUNCH @ HOTEL CASA FUSTER & FONT MÀGICA DE MONTJUÏC

On the second and last day, I really wanted to explore the city side of Barcelona more and visit some of the tourist attractions. Our first stop was the Passeig de Gràcia, which is a very long high-end shopping street. It’s basically the Champs-Élysées of Barcelona! From Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana… this street has it all. A luxurious dream. One the same street you can find the famous Casa Batlló, an architectural masterpiece! And almost at the very end of the Passeig de Gràcia, there’s Hotel Casa Fuster. I found this hotel on Instagram and it has the most beautiful view of the shopping street. And since the rooftop terrace is accessible to non-guests, we grabbed some lunch there as well. But not before taking a million pictures!

After lunch, we took the metro and made our way to the Magic Fountain. Another great spot for an amazing view of the city. It was so unfortunate that on the days of our visit, there was no fountain show. It would have been so great to experience it, but I guess it’s something to look forward to for my next visit. After soaking up the sun, taking in the view and snapping tons and tons of pictures, we went back to Passeig de Gràcia for some more shopping. We ended up going into one of the largest H&M stores I’ve ever seen. It was absolutely the prettiest building ever and it even had its own café!

On our last night, we wanted to make up for the night before and head back into town for a late dinner. We were both in the mood for some good food and vibes, so Hard Rock Cafe it was! After a delicious dinner and two cocktails, we grabbed a cab back to the hotel. We had a pretty early flight the next day, so all we had time for was a couple of hours of sleep.

Even though two days seemed short, I really enjoyed my birthday trip. And I can’t wait to go back to Barcelona very soon. I hope you enjoyed my Barcelona travel diary! Stay tuned for my next posts of the outfits I wore. As well as our hotel stay!
